Here's a quick run-down of the longer updates on About.com Cricket this month.

At the start of the month, West Indies won the 2012 ICC World Twenty20 by beating hosts Sri Lanka in the final. Here's a full report of what turned out to be an exciting and surprising game of T20 cricket.

On the World T20's heels came the 2012 Champions League Twenty20 in South Africa. The CLT20 format was a little different to most other major tournaments, although the outcome left no room for confusion: Sydney Sixers won all of their matches to take the title, including a crushing win over Highveld Lions in the final.

Over in the United States, cricket got an unwanted boost in profile as USACA Executive Secretary Kenwyn S. Williams instigated a social media debacle that threw cricket in the US into disrepute. Williams' lesson on how not to use Facebook and Twitter is still ongoing - check the @USACRIC Twitter account for more.

October 2012 was the month New Zealand great Martin Crowe was diagnosed with a form of cancer. We looked back at Crowe's five best innings as a tribute. Hopefully he'll recover.

Finally, how good are you with the ten ways of getting out in cricket? See if you know them all with our handy list, which includes links to videos of most forms of dismissal.
